Katie Spagoletti

Dance teacher KatieKatie Spagnoletti teaches classical and contemporary ballet and pointe at Evolution Dance Center. Katie started her ballet training at age 7 in Cuyahoga Falls, OH under the instruction of Mia Klinger, Kara Stewart, and Kristen Habel. She joined the Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet (now Ballet Excel Ohio) in 2001, performing the principle role in Balanchine’s Scherzo à la Russe, and originating roles in works by Lazlo Berdo, Tom Gold, and Francis Patrelle among others. She augmented her training at North Carolina School of the Arts, Saratoga Summer Dance Intensive, and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.
In 2010, Spagnoletti joined City Ballet of San Diego. Over ten seasons with the company, she performed soloist and principal roles in the company’s productions of George Balanchine’s Who Cares?, Walpurgisnacht Ballet, Apollo, The Four Temperaments, Square Dance, and Concerto Barocco, Jerome Robbins’ Afternoon of a Faun, and Elizabeth Wistrich’s The Nutcracker, Giselle, Don Quixote, and Swan Lake, among others.

Spagnoletti joined The Rosin Box Project in 2019 where she is currently an Artist and Resident Choreographer. She has six commissioned works for the company to date, and has originated roles in world premieres by Emily Adams, Florian Lochner and Alice Klock (FLOCK), Myles Thatcher, Mike Tyus, Kate Skarpetowska, Lauren Flower, Thom Dancy, Carly Topazio, and Jeremy Zapanta. She also works as a guest artist across the country, including projects by Barry Kerollis, and Zoe Marinello-Kohn, as well as Jared Nelson’s The Nutcracker.

Katie has a very enthusiastic ballet class and brings a sharp eye for technical excellence in our advanced ballet and pointe classes.
